In 2009, a groups of friends and their extended friends began gathering to explore the meaning of the precepts Oneness, Character, Action, as related to their own lives. The gatherings, which began in Karachi, also traveled to Lahore and Islamabad in Pakistan. In a Native American-style gathering, the participants sat in a circle and explored the meaning of any given theme that related to Oneness, and explored it through the lens of personal experience and stories. Some of the themes explored: attention, intention, environment, community building, economic justice and fairness, ecological relationships, character, gratitude, presence…
The circle began with food-sharing. The circle itself was an exercise in living Oneness through listening and companionship.
People came and went from the circles, which were held regularly for several months. A kind of ‘core group’ remained. The core and the come-and-go participants undertook various tasks together–all non-binding activities–such as voluntarily teaching at a school for under-privileged children. The core group also held the perhaps only even in Pakistan on the day that the Charter for Compassion was launched.
Today, the members of the core group remain steady friends. The are involved, often quietly, in such programs as Charter for Compassion–Pakistan, community kitchen gardening, and other civic and community initiatives. The website for The Oneness Breakfast, currently under development, intends to share with the larger world the method and the experiences of The Oneness Breakfast in the hope that inspired individuals and groups may make use of this method to bring about change in their own lives and those of their loved ones.
The Changemakers Hub
Previously ‘Pakistan Changemakers Hub’, The Changemakers Hub is now organized as an invite for Inner Change. The addressee of the initiative is the very person experiencing the invitation. Through teachings that take the addressee within their own lives and experience, and through tools that can be adapted and modified to unique situation, and through meta-teachings about (formation of) the tools and techniques themselves, the addressee is enabled to experience an inner change–should they so choose, of course.
The initiative explores both the inner dimension of NOW (being present) and HERE (the place or event one is in). At the cross-over of HERE and NOW lies the person who experiences these teachings. This very organic website/course is for this very person.
The School of Ra Ra
Nomadic. Seasonal. Whimsical — The School of Ra Ra is an experiment, a dream. I wish to teach forward what I know.
This project is in its nebulous state. Updates will be shared as soon as they are available.
